Jaskirat is a safe and confidential resource for students, staff, and faculty impacted by Title-IX related issues.  She can explain reporting options (with police and/or through the University), connect students to resources (mental health, medical, DRS, etc.), safety plan, and advocate for academic accommodations. Jaskirat is a great resource for students who are trying to decide on next steps after experiencing interpersonal violence. She empowers students by making sure they get to choose their next steps and how or when they want to proceed, if at all.  Her role is to support students and help them understand all their rights and options and help them navigate University and community systems.

Jaskirat received her bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Law and Society from the University of California, Irvine and has been working in the field of Gender-Based Violence over the last 3 years. She has worked with both Domestic Violence agencies and Rape Crisis Centers in her community to support survivors. In addition to providing advocacy to survivors in her community, she has also worked closely with Law Enforcement to educate on issues of Domestic Violence, the Intersection of DV and LGBTQ+ community.
