Lauryn
Hello! My name’s Lauryn and I work at LiveWell as the Peer Health Educator Program Manager. I’m also a graduate student working towards my degree in school counseling. In the past, I’ve worked with LiveWell as a Peer Health Educator to serve undergraduate students and I’m so excited to start serving graduate students as a Peer Wellness Coach. As a graduate student myself, I’m mostly focused on providing peer-to-peer support for other graduate students.
In my work, I love to highlight the importance of treating yourself with compassion and pursuing a growth mindset. I’m a recovering perfectionist and so I recognize the importance of shifting your mind to seeing setbacks and feedback as part of the process. I’m also a huge fan of positive psychology. I love looking at what makes people happy and intentionally cultivating positive emotions, relationships, and purpose into our lives.
As a coach, I’m here to explore whatever brings you in and help you find skills and knowledge to take it on. When we’re in a coaching appointment, my goal is to actively listen, express care, and place you at the center of each session. Finding meaning, purpose, and ‘our place’ can take time and effort, especially in a large school like UW. However, I’m passionate about connecting with you and working together to find the best steps forward. I look forward to meeting students and I can’t wait to see what we can learn from each other!
Beyond school and work, I know three things to be true: I love big books and I cannot lie. Black cats are cool, especially mine. And Washington hikes in the summer will steal anyone’s heart.
