Hi everyone! My name is Keira and I use she/her pronouns. I’m a third-year student studying Public Health-Global Health and minoring in bioethics. Outside of school, I love hiking, spending time with my family and friends, and exploring new coffee shops around Seattle. I was drawn to the PHE position because it combines my passion for education with my interest in health promotion, and emphasizes that growth as an individual is not linear. As an out-of-state student, I felt the stress of moving to a new environment, and I had to develop a new set of skills to address the overwhelming feeling of being in an unfamiliar place. Working as a Peer Health Educator, I’ve found it deeply rewarding to share tricks I’ve learned to address these complex emotions and learn new skills from the UW community, and I’m excited to continue growing with you all!
