Peer Health Education
The Peer Health Education Program nurtures dialogue and engagement on a peer to peer level and within various campus communities to inspire and teach life-long awareness and action in cultivating health and well-being.
The Peer Health Education Program seeks to strengthen the accessibility and engagement of University of Washington students with health & wellness related resources, educational information, practices, and growth. Peer Health Educators are highly trained and supervised students who collaborate with each other to create, implement, and facilitate campus-wide workshops and events that nurture peer-to-peer dialogue and learning about holistic, life-long practices for optimal health and wellness.
Peer Health Educators are highly trained students who fulfill the mission and values of Peer Health Education through the following services to our campus community:
- Educational Workshops
- Intentional & Educational Programming
- Peer Wellness Coaching
Peer Wellness Coaching
Peer Wellness Coaching (PWC) is a FREE service offered by our Peer Health Educators for students at the UW-Seattle campus. A few of our most experienced Peer Health Educators go through additional and in-depth training and supervision to be able to serve as Peer Wellness Coaches.
PWC is a great option for students who are looking to strengthen and enhance their personal well-being, solve problems effectively, and work toward intentional change in their lives and self.
Coaching appointments can be delivered via Zoom or In-Person at the LiveWell Office (109 Elm Hall); you choose which when you set up your appointment.
The Body Project
The Body Project is a 4 week evidence-based program designed to increase body acceptance and decrease body dissatisfaction. It is run as a group where we confront, discuss, and fight against appearance ideals pressed upon us by society and social media.
The Body project is FREE and offered by a collaboration from UW LiveWell and the UW Counseling Center. This group is facilitated by trained Peer Health Educators from UW LiveWell and by clinical staff from UW Counseling Center. This is NOT a therapy group; it is a prevention based educational group.Use the link below to sign-up for a Body Project group in Autumn Quarter 2024.
